Ashtalakshmi – 8 forms of wealth

Today,when we think and worship about lakshmi,we just refer to her as Goddess of prosperity but laxmi,the consort of Vishnu has 8 forms and has a much wider role to play in our life than conferring material wealth.

In reality,the term wealth is misleading as we humans just think it as cash balance, jewellery, cars and bungalows. But the term wealth has much more to it.The 8 forms of lakshmi listed below confers different forms of wealth.

1.Adilakshmi- One who bestows boon of liberation

2.Dhan Lakshmi-One who bestows material wealth in form of jewellery,property etc.

3.Dhanya Lakshmi- One who gives great fortune with agricultural wealth

4.Gaja Lakshmi: One who is giver of animal wealth(such as cattle)

5.Santana Lakshmi: One who provides boon of great children

6.Veera Lakshmi:One who makes us warrior by guving strength to fight off all obstacles.

7.Vidhya Lakshmi:One who bestows education and knowledge

8.Vijaya Lakshmi:One who bestows the boon of success

All forms of lakshmi are necessary to lead a happy and cheerful life!
