What we know is a drop and what we don’t know is the ocean.

Our Vedas are an ocean of knowledge and today I am trying to explain just a drop.

As we all know everything is made of five elements — Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether.

These elements are not as easy as we think.

Earth is not a planet

Water is not that we drink

Fire is that we use to burn

Air is not just what we breathe

Ether is not the sky

With the help of Vedas and Holy Scriptures, I will scientifically try to prove that the real form of five elements and their sequence in creation of the universe is — Ether, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth.

Ether converts into Air, then Air converts into Fire, then Fire converts into Water and lastly water converts into Earth. To explain it further, let me give it to you in table form;

The sequence of Five Elements of creation is:

Ether — Air — Fire — Water — Earth

Subtle compression in Ether creates Air

Ether and Air create Fire

Ether, Air and Fire create Water

Finally, Ether, Air, Fire and Water create Earth

Ether is the void, the essence of the universe. Ether is nothing but space itself. The space that is responsible for gravity and the curve that is responsible for the passage of time.

You might ask how the sound can be the property of Ether. Sound needs medium to travel, a medium like air. What is sound? Or the word? The sound represents Vedic mantras in a very subtle form. The universe is not empty but it is filled with vacuum and dark energy. The space between planets, galaxies and other cosmic bodies contains intergalactic and interplanetary plasma. With modern equipment, the scientists have recorded the sound of planets and sun in the space.

According to Vedas, there are four types of sound. 1. Vaikhari 2. Madhyama 3. Pashyanti 4. Para

Vaikhari is a normal sound that travels through the air from its source to our ears.

Madhyama is the sound that travels from our ears to our brain. It is more subtle than Vaikhari and modern equipment may detect it.

Pashyanti is the sound that travels from our brain to our conscious. It is very subtle and equipment cannot record it.

Para is the sound in the most subtle form that travels from our conscious to the soul. Only Yogis like Maha Shiva and Lord Krishna can detect it.

Ether or the space has Vedic mantras in Pashyanti and Para form. According to the laws of physics, everything in space follows the space-time curve. In Chapter 4 of Nyay Sootra, the property of space is given as:

अव्यूहा विष्टम्भविभुत्वानि

It means the space which pervades everything, it doesn’t leave its mark on any object and it provides a path to travel.

अन्तरिक्षेण हीमे ध्यावापृथिवी विष्टब्धे — Shatapatha Brahmana

Space is holding all the objects at its place including stars, planets, nebula, all particles, photons, etc. So according to Vedas the Ether is nothing but space itself which curves and it is the base of everything. Modern science may be discovering new things daily but our Vedas do not agree with it. Vedic science knows how space works, how it is made and what are its contents

Next is Air. As Sage Bhrigu said in Mahabharata, तस्माच्च सलिलोत्पीड़ा दुदतिष्ठत मारुतः means the Air is created by subtle compression in Space itself. We have a sense of touch because of this Air. Air pervades everything like space. The property of Air is ‘touch’. It means because of Air, everything in the Universe is in touch with each other or bonded together.

Photon, electromagnetic waves, charge and all elementary particles are different forms of Fire.

Property of Fire is ‘form’ (structure, manifestation or appearance), because of which we can see things. Light waves, photon, EM waves enable us to see things.

Fire is created by subtle compression of Space and Air and Fire has the properties of both, space and air but its property is ‘form’.

Water means atoms and ionic state of atoms. The property of Water is taste. When we eat something, it triggers a chemical reaction and it reaches an ionic state, because of that, we taste through our tongue. Another property of Water is flavour or essence. रस आस्वादन स्नेहनयो, it means having mutual attraction. Mutual attraction occurs between atoms and their ionic state.

The property of Earth is Smell. Earth in its essence means all molecules that reach our nostril and we can smell. Molecules are formed from atoms and their ionic state which are called Water in Vedic physics, and Water means atoms which contain elementary particles and Fire inside them as a form of charge. Also, atoms emit radiation.

Furthermore, Fire contains Air and Ether.

Air contains Ether.

Let us see the properties of Five Elements:

Earth - Form, Touch, Sound, Taste and Smell

Water - Form, Touch, Sound and Taste

Fire - Form, Touch and Sound

Air - Touch and Sound

Ether - Sound

Earth’s property is the smell but the rest four properties are because of the other four elements inside it.

Same is with other elements.

Water’s property is Taste, and the rest of the properties are due to Fire and Ether.

Vedic science is very deep and thorough; it requires in-depth study and understanding. Hopefully, I was able to explain the Vedic meaning of five elements.
