Eco-friendly Ganesha
The lord of wisdom, wealth, and wits, Lord Ganesha is celebrated during Ganesh Chaturthi as he arrives from Kailash to earth with his mother Gauri. This festival marks the installation of elaborately decorated pandals and home idols to welcome Bappa Mourya. But something that has been a reason of acute concern in the aftermath of the visarjan of the idols.
Often coated in heaps of acrylic paint immersed in oils, they are known to block acres of ocean surface causing marine life to perish. There are also issues of uncontrolled pollution and sand sedimentation. As Ganesha is the son of Shiva and Adi-Shakti who have crafted the nature with their powers, it is unlikely to cause such damage to nature while celebrating their glory. The solution? Eco-friendly Ganesha. The tree Ganesha is one such alternative that is captivating hearts. A mud laced Ganesha idol which is downed with seeds on the inside.
The more you water it during #visarjan, the more mud gets dissolved, finally giving away seeds to mother earth and letting plants grow. There’s no way that Bappa would want the nature that he loves so dearly to suffer. So this Ganpati Utsav, let’s take a pledge to make Bappa happy by adapting more eco-friendlier ways.
