How and when to celebrate birthday?

The vedic tradition which our elders followed for celebrating birthdays as per the Tithi/Nakshatra was to have the blessings of Ishta Devi and Devta and a request to protect us from every trouble.

Today we recognise and celebrate our Birthday as per Gregorian calendar, we like to spend time with our friends and colleagues. It’s fun but what if we celebrate our Birthday as per Tithi by donation to the needy, lighting Diya and spending the day with family? Enjoy two birthdays in a year.

One for others and one for yourself and the family. Make the year ahead blissful and content. Also worship the Diety connected with your tithi.
