Isht Devta

Who is my Isht Devta? Have you ever thought about this? Did this question ever pique your interest? Ever made you confused? Well, many people ask me this question, “who is my Isht Dev?”

Generally, people worship whomever God they hear about or depending upon the time of the year, like Janmashtami, Navratri, Shiv Ratri, Narak Chaturdashi, Adhik Maas, etc. People worship Shri Hari Vishnu with the same devotion they worship Shri Krishna or Shiv Ji or Hanuman Ji. Let me tell you this, you are not doing anything wrong. But you must also know that for every ounce of energy, you are getting only 80% in return because worshipping your Isht Devta will yield a better result.

You may follow a few easy steps to find out who is your Isht Dev. Meditate. Meditate properly for a couple of month with full devotion then ask what is good for you. The answer you would get will be best suited for you. The one who gives you courage and calmness, the one for whom you experience love and devotion is your Isht Devta. Alternatively, contact me or any good astrologer to find out your Isht Dev according to your Birth Chart. In short, the ruling planet in 12th house will tell your Isht Devta. I must mention here that Rahu and Ketu are not considered Isht Devta.

Apart from your Karma, everything is decided by the cosmic energy when you were born. Your Isht Devta is also decided, and you should worship accordingly with full devotion and rituals.

This is the beauty of Sanatan Dharma. You may take any path for salvation because every path goes to the Supreme Being, Ishwar. Everything is God particle, mutually interconnected and at the same time connected to nature. What I believe is, there is only one God – Parmatma or Ishwar, and every other deity and Gods are his or her various forms and manifestations.

मामुपेत्य पुनर्जन्म दुःखालयमशाश्वतम्। नाप्नुवन्ति महात्मानः संसिद्धिं परमां गताः ।8.15।

Means – having attained Me, the Yogis do not again suffer from fear of rebirth.
