Remedies, Precautions and Rituals for upcoming solar eclipse

We are experiencing a powerful solar eclipse on 21st June, 2020. Eclipse is a powerful time for doing remedies. Also, there are certain rituals and precautions -

1.You should chant ‘Aum namah shivaya’ during the time of eclipse. This mantra is very powerful to go inwards and capitalize on this powerful eclipse energy. You can also listen to Shri Rudram whole-heartedly. It is the most powerful hymn of Lord Shiva.

2. Soma is the deity for the Mrigashira nakshatra. Soma is another name of moon. Worship lord Shiva as ‘Somnath’ as he was the one who kept moon on his head. Don’t see moon with naked eyes on 20th June as its rays can be harmful.

3.You should listen or meditate on name of Lord Ganesha and chant Ganesha Atharvasirsha.

4.Eclipse time is good to honor your ancestors. You should pay your obeisance’s to them in order to receive their blessings.

5.Giving donations during the eclipse time or after the eclipse is immensely powerful. As you know that world is going through grave danger, its necessary that we should help the people in need.

6.You can also read Durga-Saptshati or Durga Stuti during the eclipse. Chant the Durga Mantra “Aum Dum Durgaye Namaha” 108 times.

7.Even if you are not well versed with any of the religious scriptures or mantras, you can do meditation during the eclipse period. During the eclipse time, you are experiencing higher vibrations of energy. It is necessary to calm your mind with meditation in order to channelize these energies.

8.You shouldn’t eat leftover food after the eclipse ends rather it is highly advisable to cook own food. Also, you should not eat anything during the eclipse.

9. Dont commence any new thing on eclipse day. You should generally not initiate any new learning or business ventures. Eclipses are not visualized as positive energy and they are not auspicious for starting anything new.

10.You shouldn’t take bath during the eclipse. Taking bath after and before the eclipse is highly recommendable. Even if you are not able to take bath, take gangajal and sprinkle it on your head while chanting ‘OM NAMAH SHIVAYA’ mantra.

11. Goddess Parvati is also a deity for this nakshatra. Pray upon the whole shiv-parivar and chant the mantra for goddess Parvati, “सर्वमंगल मांगल्ये शिवे सवार्थ साधिके शरण्येत्र्यंबके गौरी नारायणी नमोस्तुते”
